Hermès are launching a make up line
Last year, we discovered that Hermès was expanding into the cosmetic industry. Now, they have unveiled their first product, a lipstick.
Called ‘Rouge Hermès’ it is a line of 24 unique colours, priced at $67 (approx £52) and $72 (approx £54) for seasonal colours. A unique aspect of this product is that it is refillable, at a cost of $43 (approx £33), which is a sustainable approach. In addition the packaging is made of lacquered metal and Hermès’s signature “permabrass” hardware (the same that is used on its handbags) making it look timeless and chic.

There are also two different textures a matte (inspired by the fine grained suede) and Satin (inspired from dewy texture of box calf leather). This new venture is being led by Jérôme Touron, who has previously developed cosmetics for Dior and Chanel. Keeping true to the brands ethos all the ingredients are natural (from white mulberry extract to beeswax) which were developed by Touron at Hermès’s laboratory in Normandy.

Overall, Hermès plans to launch a new cosmetic category, every six months. The French house hasn’t confined any dates or future product lines yet but sure sounds promising and very exciting!
